Fred DuVal’s Catastrophic 12 Point Loss in 2014 Gubernatorial Election Cemented Democrat Losses Throughout Arizona
PHOENIX – This afternoon Chairman Robert Graham of the Arizona Republican Party noted that the Hillary for President campaign called attention to her lack of support in Arizona by hiring two-time loser Fred DuVal to file her paperwork to be on the March 22 Presidential Preference ballot. DuVal, a Democratic lobbyist, lost a statewide election in 2014 to Governor Doug Ducey by a whopping 12 percentage points. DuVal had been a Clinton administration lobbyist and also a candidate for Congress in Arizona in 2002, where he came in fourth in the Democrat primary in then-district 1.
“We have tremendous respect for the electoral process and the will of the voters, and we fully understand that a candidate’s campaign strategy and implementation don’t always work out as planned,” said Arizona Republican Party Chairman Robert Graham. “But we just had to laugh at Hillary for choosing Arizona’s least popular Democrat to run her errands.”
